@OP once you get any PS3, I am sure you will forget about most PS2 games before long. You have a PS2, and I bet you would almost never use it if you had a non BC PS3.

My PS3 is BC and I rarely use it to play PS2 games. I really don't see the big deal with BC to begin with. If you want to play PS2 games then use your PS2.

Having a PS3 that was not BC would almost be an asset. It would not render your PS2 useless, which is good in a wierd sort of way.

but if you're a techie and you like the best of the best... then I understand.
