People need to think back to when the original xbox was coming out. Microsoft at that time made it clear that they wanted to control the living room. When the PS2 was a dvd player and tivo's were getting more and more powerful microsoft made a decision. They would compete in the market with a game system. Ofcourse it wouldn't ONLY be a game system. It would offer movies rentals, live tv, etc.

Look at some of these links:

Engadget says "Hello PS3, goodbye Tivo"

Here is gizmodo saying apple tv's main competitor is the xbox 360

So, if you agree with these statements, now lets discuss if the xbox is winning or losing!!!

Why is it that this point is always dwelled upon? Of course Microsoft is loosing, they aren't selling as much (dosn't take a rocket scientist) but damn they have increased their market share and are actually making money with a system that I wouldn't be embarrased to say I own (If I had one). So yeah they're loosing the race but still winning in business terms (trust me M$ would have bout Nintendo or Sony had they not thought they could make more net profit from going it alone).

Currently dreaming of: DKC4 or Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (classic 2D platformers) for WiiWare, Smash Bros. for DSi, New Super Mario World for DSi, a Wii remake or true sequel of Final Fantasy Tactics.

One down, hopefully more awesomeness to come.
