They said that there was "No plan" to reduce prices. However, situations can change that and force or at least encourage Sony to drop prices. It could be that manufacturing costs have reduced quite a bit. It could be that the PS3 took a hit in sales numbers when the 360 drops a price.
The way they worded that, wouldn't make it illegal to call for a price drop, just that at this point, the focus is not on dropping the price and work on profitability. If Sony was feeling pressure to drop the price, or could afford to do so, they would in a heart beat I think. Even with talking to investors, the media would pick up on it, so they have to tread that path ever so carefully when discussing a price drop. Nobody in the company would mention plans of any sort of price drop where the information gets out to the public. Chances are, there are plans for a price drop. Just the one thing they may not be certain of, is when they will do so.
My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.
