I've been holding off from posting because I wanted to get this just right.

Final Fantasy XII paid for Final Fantasy XIII.
Yes SE has had losses, but it is because they have 4-5 major games in development, yet to release. All paid for by FFXII and DQVIII which saw their profit in years past.
I would cite regulation, but I know you will simply ignore it.
