The definition of first person is pitting you(the person interacting with whatever) as the main character. Meaning usually in a first person game the object of it is to pit you as the main character. Now of course this has trangressed to also meaning simply first person perspective where you see through the eyes of the main character, which is not the true definition of first person, but all the same.

But the character in Duck Hunt is you which makes it in reality the most true definition of first person which doesn't even detail perspective as first person is simply meant to be putting you within whatever is going on.

I've only spoke technically throughout this topic while you've spoke on behalf of the stereotypes. We don't disagree in anyway, it's just you are continuously making this harder.

The genre FPS is not the same as FPS. If they were there would be inconsistencies. Can we at least agree on that. I'm simply giving a perspective on this to further point out stereotypes in the gaming industry and possible moments of inspiration.
