@ Zucas )

the genre name was created for a revolutionary game which defined this genre (because it didn't quite fit to former genres) and not the other way round, which is why your approach is bullshit

if the name of the genre is too little information for a distinction of games, then just look at the games which defined the genres and you have a clear definition of what fits to the genre and what doesn't

Haha your funny. So Duck Hunt isn't a first person shooter. Then what is it. And don't say light gun shooter, because all light gun shooters are first person shooters. Seriously you got anything to back up what you say. What I thought.

You cant see the gun.. so no fps..

FPS is a sub genre of shooters just like Light gun shooters and on rail shooter..

the term came to define a more specific type of game with a first-person view, where the main character's gun and part of his/her hand is shown, almost always centered around the act of aiming and shooting hand-held weapons, usually with limited ammunition.

The focus is generally on the aiming of one's own guns and the avoidance of enemy attacks, but the player is given more control over their movement than in on-rails shooters and most light gun games.he term came to define a more specific type of game with a first-person view, where the main character's gun and part of his/her hand is shown, almost always centered around the act of aiming and shooting hand-held weapons, usually with limited ammunition.

Once again I said maybe our stereotypes are wrong.  I understand what the common thought of what an FPS is again.  It's about there being movement of the main character and a gun showing.  We all understand the stereotype.

I'm simply saying just because there is a stereotype doesn't mean you can't talk technically which is what I've been saying this entire time.  I've included technically almost everytime.  Is a light gun shooter in first person perspective?  yea moreso than the stereotypical genre of FPS.  Is it a shooter?  once again yes.  Tehcnically light gun shooters are FPS.  That's all I've ever said and it's all been technical.

So I'll repeat it again, technically Duck Hunt is the best selling FPS ever.
