I agree with most points onymeth, people seem to be rejecting the one box does all thing. But I don't think Nintendo is winning the living room war (although they are certainly winning the game console war)

I believe apple is winning. When you control the purchasing of content and the players for that content you are in a good spot. Itunes, Appletv, Ipod, and now Iphone. They are winning.

Apple is not winning. AppleTV isn't even really that successful. I bet more people have the Wii's than AppleTV boxes in their living rooms. Half of the people I know don't buy iTunes music because it is overpriced, even if they buy an ipod (which I don't reccommend). The iPhone doesn't go in the living room and neither does the iPod, last time I checked. iPhones are already extremely high with a plan (hm... PS3 or iPhone???), and without a plan, they're practically the price of your first born child.

Apple TV may not sell as much as the iPod, but it is #1 for video downloads, ahead of all the others including the 360. Go check the NPDs. Video downloading is just not ready for the mass market. It will take a few more years.

Saying the iPhone is expensive (or "high") is just wrong. The new iPhone is not expensive at all at $199 with contract, or you can still get the old one unlocked for around $400 on eBay. In most countries $400 won't buy you a child.
