Yet I do also hope they do make a remake. But I would prefer FFVI over VII. Sadly the modern FF lost all the charm the previous entries had.
BTW if Lost Odyssey would be named FF it would have sold millions of copies and would be said to be one of the best entries in the series. |
Except Final Fantasy never gets average ratings. Plus, If Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey's current sales are indicative of the 360 fanbase's taste in RPGs, then even if it were named FF, it still wouldn't sell that great

This might not occur to you that FF is popular with the mainstream unlike most JRPGs so even on the 360, FF would be huge
|
Popular with the mainstream? I thought that unless games were Halo, Madden, or anything that came on the Wii, they were simply considered "niche titles" that won't move many consoles.

Final Fantasy is mainstream and generally, the first main FF of every console generation moves the hardware of whatever console the game is on.

VII did it for PS1, X did it for PS2, so I can't argue with you there. But that's only because FF has it's fanbase. The same person that buys Nintendogs or Viva Pinata isn't going to buy FF. A good example of "mainstream" games that always seems to be used is that if you go up to a random stranger and ask "Do you know who Master Chief is/what Halo is?" and they'll probably say yes. Ask about Zidane Tribal, and you'll get punched in the face lol
