Well, it's clear from sales that the Switch was what today's gamers wanted. But for me, watching the company of my entire youth abandon the home console market like that, similar to Sega before them... it was a little depressing. And then to see them pretty much just copy and paste the exact same thing after waiting as long as we did? As I said, I was bored with the first Switch after a few years, which has always been the case for me. I grew up with five-year cycles, and new consoles that changed everything. Now it's like, the same system for fourteen years?!?!?! I was not cool with that. Not in the least.

What do you mean you were bored with the system? It has literally over 13000 games on it. So you have only played on Nintendo consoles since the Wii then? Since Playstation, Xbox and PC have been the same for 25-40 years...

After a few years, a console loses all its novelty to me. Just like all things. You get a new car, it's amazing, you cherish it, you're wowed by it... until suddenly, one day, it's just a car. I'm that way with consoles, too. They're exciting at launch but then just become a platform. I start itching for the next thing. And as I mentioned, in the past, that meant paradigm shifts. Whole new ways to play, whole new mechanics, whole new everything. So when it was announced that S2 was basically just S1, and after eight whole years? lol. For me, you might as well have said you weren't even launching anything at all haha.

Man, things sure have changed.
