Basically, all of your evidence is speculation, and you don't have one single bit of solid data to back up your claim. Did I get that right? Erm, Fact: Chris Hecker did work in many senior / hi profile positions Fact: Such people don't do that without understanding politics Fact: Invited speakers to events often prepare for events they speak at Fact: Chris Hecker researched term art in x360/ps3/wii official sites Fact: EA has until recently devoted least resources to Wii of the 3 current consoles (x360, ps3, wii) Fact: EA has poor financials in recent quarters. Fact: Large companies with weak financials tend to not like making additional investment Fact: Hecker made a retraction. Most agree it was at behest of his employer (EA/Maxis) Fact: People told to say something can be told to say something totally opposite (ie. Tony Snow) Theory: Chris Hecker made original statement at behest of EA Reformatted for clarity, so what's your point? There is ample evidence listed. Plenty of fertile grounds for the theory. I might not have Halloween papers, but plenty of evidence to support motive. Where is your evidence for believing otherwise?
That really doesn't make much sense though. The best way for EA to improve their financials is to sell more games. The Wii is a way to sell more games. For them to state this and increase Wii support dramatically, while at the same time telling their employees to give the system bad press so that it won't do as well, and consequently hurt EA Wii game sales would be just plain weird. I think you're really overcomplicating things here. The most simple, practical and obvious conclusion to draw is that his opinion is that the Wii is a poor console from a Dev standpoint and that Nintendo doesn't do enough to foster gaming as an art form. The Subsequent retraction of those statements are because the company he works for has much to gain with the Wii.

I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
