The second part of the Tuesday gaming news:

Why alts are part of World of Warcraft: Forever's core progression plans

The developers of World of Warcraft: Forever would very much like it if you would create multiple characters, please.
There are a number of reasons for that, including that having lower level characters means you'll be well set up to welcome new friends to the game, as well as to experience the new leveling zones and dungeons and encounters coming in future patches, the developers tell us in exclusive interviews. So they're building in a bunch of incentives.

'Our humble goal is to survive the AI revolution' says Epic Games CEO, as its Star Wars and Marvel crossover pivots to 'AI first' development

An unannounced Star Wars and Marvel shooter in the works at Epic Games has been delayed, and its creators instructed to take an "AI first" approach to development. Staff were advised of the pivot last week, according to a Bloomberg report, with the project delayed indefinitely from its (unannounced) March 2027 release.
That "AI first" approach seems pretty comprehensive: the instructions per Bloomberg are to "implement an 'AI first' production model using tools such as Anthropic's Claude". Art will be "generated with full AI workflows", according to the same set of instructions.
Shortly after Bloomberg's report was published, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney took to X to share his own thoughts.

Don't neglect crafting furniture in your Arc Raiders outpost—it unlocks hundreds of extra storage slots
https://www.pcgamer.com/games/third-person-shooter/dont-neglect-crafting-furniture-in-your-arc-raiders-outpost-it-unlocks-100s-of-extra-storage-slots/
Arc Raiders' new outpost system arrived with the Frozen Trail update, and like many I'm sure, I pretty much ignored the entire furniture aspect of it. My mind was occupied with upgrading the outpost itself, building rooms, and trying to get an Emperor Modulator and Frigate Inductor to level my Gunsmith and Research Bench. I wanted those spicy new amplified weapon upgrades like explosive bullets or incendiary shells.
I assumed the whole building outpost furniture thing was a cosmetic feature, but I was dead wrong. Crafting furniture in your Arc Raiders outpost actually gives you hundreds of extra storage slots for items and weapons and it's fairly easy to unlock, you just need to:

RimWorld drops Unity for its own in-house engine, says your saves still work, so do most mods, and the whole thing runs twice as fast

Those are some 'wipe your glasses, rub your eyes, triple-check you did the maths right' numbers that RimWorld's new Waylith engine is spitting out, but it seems to be the real deal. Over on Reddit, players who are trying out the new engine are finding impressive results: "Stable 120 fps and 900 [ticks per second]. Normally I have at max speed 60/700ish," says TheLemonFox. "Impressive." Though they also report the new build is RAM-hungry: "it eats RAM like there is no tomorrow. 12-13 GB RAM directly at startup is… something."

And here's the only short story of today:
