While I do recognise the potential of AI to help mankind, and solve some of society’s major challenges, the AI utopia would mean we didn’t have to work so much, but could spend the time on the family and things we enjoy. However, that is unfortunately not the timeline we are on. |
Don't even need AI to hack you personal information, Elon Musk already has free access
He considers Musk the most dangerous man (child) on Earth, ahead of Putin and Netanyahu. And you're spot on about accountability, that's why he has a firm grip in politics. Trump wants/needs money, Musk needs government to give him free reign. It's a toxic symbiotic relationship. Unfortunately their recklessness and hubris will be our downfall.
Sure all new technologies have/had downsides, refrigerators destroyed the ozone layer for example, industrial farming poisoned the water with pesticides and synthethic fertilizers, caused biodiversity collapse, erosion, desertification, all contributing to climate change.
AI is new technology on steroids, potential to do harm much faster on a much bigger scale as the AI boom is already destabilizing the world economy, power grids, water use next to undermining critical thinking and learning. https://www.apa.org/monitor/2026/09/ai-brain-development-youth
AI is great when put to specific use, automating/optimizing repetitive tasks, gathering/organizing research material, suggesting connections/explanations, yet general chat bots that do all the work for you should be banned in schools. It's a lot more than using a calculator for school, it's a calculator that let's you bypass understanding the question or learning anything from it.
