Play however you like. I don't think a lot of games were intended to be blown up to 4k or even 1080p. You can wind up seeing stuff that the devs never intended. For example; I personally don't like seeing the entire model of my trainer in 4k while playing DS or 3DS era Pokemon games. And I don't like seeing raw pixels in my games, even though I accept it as a legitimate choice. Props for sticking with emulators for discontinued hardware. Also I wish I could give you a personal tour of my setup. High end CRTs, and upgraded cables do wonders for older games, while keeping the original. If you can find a good PC CRT I think using CRT Emudriver to send something 1280 or 990 (or whatever resolution those 2004 PC CRTs did) would be worth your $50-$150 spent. Also if I were to play anything upscaled it would be Perfect Dark multiplayer, because the native resolution on N64 split screen isn't even 480i. And pumping it through CRT emu driver to a 720p resolution would be sick! |
Sounds really cool. I used to have the original hardware until I realized I had 13 consoles with so many controllers. Texture packs are my favorite. Link between worlds with henriko was fantastic.
