There was another rumor of a Switch 2 release based on a statement by Devin Pritchard (Nintendo of America president) when asked by Variety magazine whether GTA 6 would come to the Switch 2.

Her response is that it is a "conversation between Rockstar and Taketwo"

This suggests that Nintendo would not be opposed. And nothing more than that.

Now as many of you may already know, it was long rumored that RDR2 would come to PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox SX. This turned into a post GTA 6 release 2027 project... due to the realization by R* that it was massively behind in GTA 6 development.

And RDR 2 runs at over 100 FPS on a hacked PS5 so clearly it can run on the Switch 2 in a decent capacity. So expect it.

Now when it comes to GTA 6, we really need to see the Xbox Series S to see what concessions even look like. I believe that its is definitely possible but it would need to be a bespoke version with bespoke settings. First, we have no idea how big this game is. It may actually exceed 200 GB which would easily exceed what is viable on the Switch. Now keep in mind the largest Switch games, FF7 Rebirth, is 81 GB compared to 147GB on the PS5.

Even a 61% decrease by shrinking textures would leave a massive 120+ install file and that hit to texture quality is gonna be huge. May not be pretty, but still doable.

The Second issue is harder to overcome. Its the CPU (isn't it always) . So, I yes, I want to start off by saying that PS5 mode specs have not been confirmed by R* at this point. But at this point there is only a 30FPS mode on the PS5 that we know of. If it is true that the CPU is locking the PS5 to 30 FPS, then there is no chance of getting this game to run at 30 without heavily changing the simulation itself ( as in turning it off lol).

For the record i think a 60 FPS mode is possible on the PS5 which leaves the possibility of running on Switch 2 as a possibility...kinda.

Another issue on the Switch 2 may be streaming speeds... traveling the map at speeds could causing hitches... although this could be alleviated by having smaller textures to begin with to address the first issue.

As far as GPU I will reserve judgment till we see the Series S.

If all this can be addressed and it doesn't have a material impact on the experience then I could definitely see it eventually making it to Switch 2 and possibly proceeding a PC launch.
