The better approach is to oppose those harmful applications while supporting the beneficial ones. As the tech keeps getting more powerful regulation will become increasingly needed so that's how it can be guided towards the latter. For the last part I'd say that's well worth it for high effort projects getting a major boost. In general something becoming far easier and quicker to do will result in a lot more crap getting made and shared but most things that are already made aren't exactly good to begin with and it'll also result in more good stuff getting made as well. Basically 100 crappy projects is fine since 10 good ones are made as well so same goes for 1000 vs 100. |
The problem is that the harmful uses and the slop content vastly, vastly outweighs the useful cases. If I had to guess it's more like 1 useful case to 1000 shitty ones.
And that's before we get into the tech itself stealing people's work, driving up prices, dumbing down society, and destroying the planet.
