I’m torn. I love the charm and personality in the UI, but darn do I much prefer the snappiness of my Switch 2. And as far as software is concerned, Nintendo was still outperforming the rest with their first party output during 2014… but that was like the system’s only real year of support. For how short-lived it was, I’d say Nintendo did a decent job. But no 2D nor 3D Zelda, no Metroid, no Animal Crossing, a sequel to SM3DLand as the mainline 3D Mario, the 2D Mario being an up-res of NSMBWii, Smash 4 being the most void of single player content in the entire series, in addition to the frequent misses in software quality (SFZero, AC: Amiibo Festival, MT:Ultra Smash, PM:CS)… I mean this system was a mess.
That said, upon having reflected on it, I think I land comfortably in the “No.” camp. This system was Nintendo at its weakest and by a landslide margin, as far as home console support is concerned.
