I've tried it on my PC using DLSS 5 Swapper. It's really hit or miss depending on the game you use it on.
Tried it on some cartoonish games like Hi-Fi rush and a Hat in time, didn't really do much beside desaturate the colors a bit. big miss.
But then i tried it on Final Fantasy XIV. My jaw hit the fucking floor.
Seriously it made it look like a next generation MMO. It feels like my game got turned into a CGI cutscene. I don't mind playing the game like this from now on. though it seems to default to 40fps regardless of my settings.
I Also tried it in Oblivion Remastered. I think it looks good. It kind of reminds me of one of those cheesy 80's fantasy movies. I kind of like the overall mood it gives to the Oblivion Realms. The performance was surprisingly good i think it was hovering around 60fps for me but I was using Frame gen though.
I definitely think it benefits games going for a more realistic or semi-realistic style. though that might be because this version of DLSS 5 was made specifically for NBA 2k27 which is going for more realistic visuals. I'm curious to see if we'll get different versions that cater more to cartoonish art styles.
