With regards to the Nintendo fanbase, there's often the sentiment that cartoony = good and realistic = bad, with games like say Twilight Princess the recent Starfox remake, and even the Ocarina remake getting complaints from some for being "soulless" just cos they're not cartoony, which I think is ridiculous as gaming would be boring as hell if everything looked cartoony, there is room for both approaches and variety is the spice of life, those games look great to me.
