I don't care if everyone's talking about GTA VI looking great, because that CyberPunk 2077 footage is absolutely crushing GTA. Makes me really wonder how GTA VI will look when it eventually lands on PC and also gets the DLSS treatment. I guess even with more typical PC improvements it might already look quite impressive.

From my POV, GTA VI is exceptional mix of art and tech. I'm sure Rockstar will use DLSS5 to enhance, yet preserve that art, unlike most crap currently shown with DLSS5.

It definitely is. Especially the characters look amazing, but all the environmental detail is great too. It looks great otherwise too, but I think those two aspect are going to carry it a long way. I think DLSS 5 will be a great thing once developers get their hands on it properly and learn to control it better, but until then, it'll be hit and miss - but I think think a lot of what it does is absolutely amazing, I just wish we can get rid of most of those misses too.

To be honest, I had completely forgoten about the GTA/Netfilx reveal until I saw the articles about it. And given that I don't have to share those articles, I still haven't bothered to check it out.

As for the improvements it could feature on PC, lightning (better RT or PT) would be my guess.

Yeah, lighting is a sure thing. At this point I'd be surprised if the PC version didn't have path tracing, and obviously there will be some ray tracing as well. We'll see how it goes. I still lighting is one of the most important aspects of how realistic a game looks - everything else needs to be just good enough to support it, and lighting does the final mile. This is what's made me very excited about ray/path tracing, even if progress still takes time.
