What's the greatest 2D game ever made in your view, and why?

Yeah, I think it's pretty easy pick for SMB 3. The replayability is endless. And I could not play that game for 30 years and still know all the secrets :P A good second and more modern pick would be Hollow Knight. But that does not have the same replayabillity and might be to difficult when I'm 60 or 70 ;) I'm sure I could still play SMB 3 when i'm 80. Hehe.
