That's more difficult to answer, because there are different ways to push the envelope. I wouldn't ask a developer to tank performance for extra strands of hair or volumetric lighting, but I wouldn't mind if they sacrificed performance (to a degree) for something that greatly enhances the way the player interacts with the game. Tears of the Kingdom is the perfect example. On Switch, it's 30 fps and 900p, yet it boasts some of the most mechanically and physically audacious gameplay of all time. To me, that is a good trade-off.
