It also gives Sony the chance/option for some good PR by adding PSN support to a few countries (beginning with those with the highest PS revenue of the unsupported countries).

Well they are going to have to do that in order to sell any consoles at all in those countries. They will still probably lose millions of sales though. Its not just about where Sony will make PSN available, but places where people just dont have stable enough internet connections for a fully digital console.
