All of these tacky sporting events he's held on Federal property are a great example of what the Romans called "panem et circenses," entertainment to distract the masses from the corruption and the tanking economy.

Or to put it in modern terms, Trump is trying to sportswash this absolute mess of a presidency. In this regard, he's taking many cues from his good friend, Prince Muhammad Bone Sawman, who has his tentacles deep in FIFA and recently bought EA, a purchase almost certainly made entirely for EA Sports.

It's also worth reminding everyone that one of the minority partners in the EA private equity buyout is Silver Lake, owned by Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Well, he's trying with the circuses part of panem et circenses, alright... but for the bread part, he doesn't really do anything to lower the food prices. In other words, as usual for him, it's a half-measure, and thus nothing that will earn him any points.
