They updated the PS5 sales figure as of June 30, 2026, and it now says More than 95 million.
While looking at the page, I also noticed that they made a change to the PS2 figure. It now says More than 160 million. Previously, it said More than 160.0 million. This can be verified using the Wayback Machine:

The change was made sometime after January 15, 2026.
It has to be said quite clearly that Sony is being truly childish and pathetic here and apparently desperately wants to keep this record. Someone at Sony had to manually make this change. And yet, they left the obvious error in As of March 31, 2012 untouched, even though As of March 31, 2013 would be correct.
The reasoning behind the correction is obvious: Sony apparently panicked because the Switch might still overtake the PS2, so they further obscured their own reported PS2 sales figure. With More than 160.0 million, it is clear that fewer than 160.1 million PS2s were sold. However, by displaying the figure as More than 160 million, without a decimal place, it becomes unclear how far above 160 million the actual figure could be.
For someone who is not familiar with the details, the theoretical range could therefore be anywhere from 160 million + 1 all the way up to 161.8 million — the absolute theoretical maximum based on the figures we have, assuming that not a single PS3 was shipped during a particular period when Sony was combining the PS2 and PS3 sales figures.
However, by making this change, Sony also proves that the actual sales figure is indeed around 160.0 million, meaning that definitely fewer than 160.1 million units were sold. Otherwise, Sony would have had no reason to make this change.
Sony is simply a shabby company. There is no other way to put it! If the situation were reversed and Nintendo were using the exact same trick in the way it presented the numbers, I would say exactly the same thing about Nintendo. This kind of behavior is simply ridiculous!
