If you think about it, that might give it one last boost, since people will know it’s being discontinued, plus Nintendo could ship another few hundred thousand or maybe even a million units to retailers to keep them stocked throughout the year.

I can see this happening. Imagine Nintedo paying attention to Europe's holiday numbers for the Switch 1 and, based on them, doing a farewell Switch 1 shipment to Europe for 2027 and beyond
