Xbox hardware gained momentum because of a temporary pricecut and a major upcoming price hike.
In the unlikely event Sony senses anything resembling a threat from Microsoft (their previous "direct competitor"), they will pretend to love gamers again and offer them what they want. But the need unfortunately won't arise. MS is one step ahead of Sony in increasing their hardware and subscription prices. Not exactly a sign that they're going to win gamers back.
Helix will be an expensive PC with no true physical support (apart from partial backwards compatibility) even if it has a disc drive.
