Huh. That’s a new one: a 2.5D Splatoon side-scroller. Honestly I’d be very interested to see how Nintendo could pull that off, for a franchise which literally responds to a genre that cannot exist in 2D (besides  a game along the lines of Duck Hunt).

(All that comes to mind is Hey Pikmin… oof!)

It’d probably feel similar to how Inklings play in Smash Bros which is actually what got me hooked on the idea of a 2.5D Splatoon side-scroller. Another cool direction would be a Borderlands-style RPG shooter with a much deeper story than the usual single-player DLCs. 

But like I said I'll pick it up eventually(sooner if word of mouth is good) and hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised by it.
