To think the Wii is "hurting" hardcore is laughable IMO.

All its doing is expanding the gaming audience, and giving developers an alternative channel for releasing different/lower-budget titles.

Developers now have more freedom in choice of target platform than ever before.

...

The REAL issue is this:

WHY are developers making more casual, and less hardcore games?
- (Answer: Money)

WHY are hardcore games just not as profitable as they used to be (which leads to casual game development instead)?
- (Answer: Development budgets have gone through the roof, and its not being covered by the extra revenue earned from these games - as the "new" audience are intimidated and uninterested by these old "hardcore" titles)

So you think that the PS3 and 360 will be fine, and that the Wii will capture almost all of the nonhardcore gamers, and will find inventive new ways to play their first party games with the Wii remote that both casuals and hardcore will enjoy? That is what I hope will happen aswell, though I am unsure. I still belive that some games are better with the Wii remote, some are worse, and some are just different.

My most anticipated game right now is Pikmin 3, becuase I loved 1 and 2 and I know that Pikmin will be better with the Wii remote. On the other hand, I fail to see how a game like ToS: DotNW could be better with the Wii remote than with GC controller, but perhaps it will be equally good and just different.
