So now it's been a couple of days since I made this post and I've cooled down a bit. But I still consider this game to be ass and could probably add complaints to the list in the OP.
To people saying that this game gets undeserved hate and people jumping on the hate train: I clearly stated in the OP that I on purpose did avoid reviews and opinions of this game before playing the game and making the OP. After finishing the game (and making OP) I've read some opinions, and lo and behold they actually aren't that dissimilar to what I wrote.
Further some replies try to make a point that main line Pokemon games are the same or worse and I strongly disagree with this. Newer pokemon games problem are not that they are bad games, their problems are that they are basically the same game, that does not make them bad (other than in some cases optimisation) it's just that they are samey and you feel the lack of innovation so they don't feel fresh (that in combination with a lot of times also looking kind of ugly). Metroid Prime 4s problem isn't that it's just a rehash of the original trilogy, it's that it's straight up bad (for the reasons I listed in OP + more things). |
You don't know what a bad game is. Go play Rascal on PS1. Vampire Rain on 360. Virtual Hydlide Saturn or Virtuoso 3DO. Home Alone PS2. People like you think a game is either a 10/10 or shit with nothing in between. Prime 4 is a good 7/10 game which is lower than the other games but far from bad. No one says you have to like it but saying it's bad or "ass" is just hyperbole. It's a sad sympton of online culture. If a game is not exactly like what came before or deviates a bit. People act like it murdered a room of people.
