I loved Doom 2016 and Eternal; the Dark Ages did not catch me nearly as much, but to think the studio is now basically gone after two straight up bangers and a good game is really sad. I have mentioned this previously, these studios after the acquisition were asked to make "gamepass games" that try something different and are focused on variety, not straight up direct sales. And now they are being punished for it because their games did not sell that well.
It is good the Bethesda Union is pointing out Asha's spin on it. Even on this site with nothing but gaming enthusiasts, numerous people referred to the massive layoffs as "cutting the fat", which sounds so positive. Everybody nodded hearing "we have up to 14 layers of management" thinking, yes, that sounds ridiculous, of course they need to change that and lay off people in these positions. But that is not what has happened here.
