It hasn't sold 5m. Not sure where that estimate is from but that would mean it outsold DK and following charts CB2077 is often nowhere near as high despite being multiplatform. UK charts also give a weekly platform breakdown and Switch 2 versions is often much less than the PS5s 

It seems the game sold 5m since November 2025 (all platforms) and 10m since Nov 2024 (all platforms) from CD projeks press releeases. I think S2 is decent contributer (1-1.5m) but certainly not 5m. UK splits have so far looks liked this in recent weeks.

Other markets will vary but its easy to paint a rough picture from this

The UK isn't the most unreliable place to gauge success of any kind for Nintendo platforms if we went by the UK S2 would be well behind in sales to the PS5 weekly, while 5m seems high the reasoning that it being higher than DK doesn't make it so isn't really a concrete one because DK is far from the highest selling first party title I'd say the number is at least above 2m maybe even around 3m. A number of third party games outsold the last DK game (freeze) with MH Rise, Minecraft being obvious examples.
