Intel confirms Core Ultra 7 270k and Ultra 5 250K price hike

I doubt they're selling so well that this will be a problem, but it's still a d*ck move from Intel and, in other circumstances (aka. if it mattered) we would be wondering if this was the plan the whole time and the launch price was just a way to get better reviews.

$50 for the 270+ and $30 for the 250+, the refreshed variants that Intel released just a couple months ago, that's quite a steep increase.

On the other hand, the 270+ was more like a i9 285 non-k in terms or core counts and clock speeds, which had an MSRP of $549, and the 250+ is essentially an i5 245K with 4 additional e-cores, and the 245K had an MSRP of $309. In other words, they're still much cheaper than the chips they're based on. But those are also 2 years old by now and in dire need of replacement to be able to compete with AMD on more than just the price and sheer core counts.
