Lot of people ain't gonna bother honestly. Look how S2 sales died off in Japan after the price rise (though it is NintendoLand so it's probably only temporary and will at least come back to a decent baseline) when that was the only country that was actually providing really strong sales for the system, and S2 sales are gonna suffer bad in the pretty mediocre market around the rest of the world once the global price raise goes into effect in a couple months.
Far worse look at PS5 sales now. PS5 looked like it was def gonna beat PS4 sales, now hardly anybody wants to pay the absurd prices and sales have plummeted dramatically. PS5 sales this year look like what you'd expect from an Xbox system lol. PS5 sales this year are probably gonna end up being what you would expect for the year the system gets replaced, not 2-3 years before replacement! We'll have to what effect GTA has and what their holidays are like, but at the moment it feels like they might not even hit 10M for the whole year even with the biggest game launch of all time coming!
I balked at the high S2 prices. No way I'm paying $450 for a video game system, nor $70 for games. And with the home consoles wayyy more expensive, yeah the costs are just a complete joke and there's plenty of people who will skip it.
S2's horrible pricing led me to skip this gen and stick with the Switch1 and to start buying games on Steam. Between those two I can get my hands on more games than I could ever want to play, and no need to follow the price jacking to hell that all three hardware makers are into these days.
