No idea why Valve needed this sort of shit to happen - any PC gamer that knows even little bit about hardware could see right from the start that specs were pretty bad, and that, if the price wasn't at least half less than what they're peddling it for now, it would be complete dud. Valve should really focus on ongoing Steam on ARM push, that's were they're doing really good so far, and that's were the future market expansion is.

That said, not sure how much units there were actually available (guesstimates are around 1-2K on conservative end and around 5-10K on other end), but they are sold out in Japan - I guess they really like their home entertainment boxes small.

There is a market in Japan for stylish niche electronics.
