| KLXVER said: A thing we havent really talked much about when it comes to the MS and Xbox situation is Rare. I mean maybe Nintendo should make an offer to acquire them. I think it would help Nintendo out with more constant releases. Rare has always been very efficient. I mean they released like 13 N64 games in 5 years. I would like to see them being merged with Retro Studios to work on Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong, Conker, Battletoads etc... Maybe even get Double Fine and make Fine Rare Retro Studios(or whatever.lol). I think that would be a team like no other. The creativity and experience of those teams would be something else. Also a lot of gamers have been wanting Rare back to Nintendo for like 20 years and would really give Nintendo some much needed good publicity. |
Rare are long finished and have been since the 360 days they were already having problems during the N64 days with games running over budget and delays. The talent in the past doesn't automatically translate to today's era either, it's far more beneficial for Nintendo to create a new studio with new younger recruits to nurture them or buy one who works strictly with them like they did with NLG as they're already in the development ecosystem as well as committed to it and can retain talent far easier to train future talent because as seen with Retro themselves ironically who were the Turok team people eventually just start leaving because they aren't as fully committed to one gaming ecosystem.
