Totally understand the OP.

It's not for everyone and all depends on people's finance. Some of us has the means, or want, while others don't, or simply choose not to. To each their own as long as they're happy with their own choice.

The way I've been doing it is, firstly buy the physical game, if it's multiplatform then I'd buy it on my preferred console (Playstation). And then will buy it again on same or even multiple consoles/PC when its dirty cheap. Sometimes, when I finally get the chance to play my backlog, rather than opening it I'll just buy it digitally for really low price.

...except for Nintendo 1st party games. They remain full price across multiple generations and Nintendo does a decent job keeping physical on shelves (hopefully stays this way) so not really missing out if I kept delaying buying Nintendo 1st party games. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake can wait and I'll pick that up for the Switch 3 lol
