Eternal Darkness was a GameCube game and Nintendo hasn't been interested in doing anything with it since then. I think it's time to stop using it as an example of the kind of games Nintendo allows in their consoles.

Given we just got Gamecube on NSO I think it's likely we'll see it again soon.

Regardless, there are plenty of more recent examples; Emio the Smiling Man for example touches on murder, dismemberment, domestic violence, alcoholism, etc.
