Crash bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy sold 2.5m copies in its first 3 months, and broke 20m lifetime. It takes Two sold 1m in its first month. It’s now sold 30m+. |
Sony has been relatively "stingy" with discounts throughout the generation across virtually all titles. They're conditioning their fans to buy their games expensive compared to prior generations and most 3rd party games. Their sales can decline and they won't care as long as the revenue is up.
But maybe they'll be more generous with Astro Bot, as its default price is $60 and it's been bundled for free for a time. It's probably the kind of game that benefits a lot from heavy discounts.
