The owner of the Knicks, who is one of Trump’s biddies, actually blamed Mamdani for shutting down the area in order to protect the President and making it possible to have pre- and post-game celebrations. The Secret Service ordered that high level security.
This was a stunt by Trump to inflate his ego and make Mamdani look bad.
