A Baldur's Gate 2 remake is apparently in development, with the original co-lead designer returning

Why oh why only Baldur's Gate 2?

If they do a remake, then they should a Baldur's Gate quadrilogy. As in Baldur's Gate, Siege of Dragonspar, Baldur's Gate 2 and The Black Pits/Gladiators of Thay all rolled into one giant campaign. Because right now, we have to rely on a mod to do so.

The article already speculates that there must be a remake of the first game as well since BG2 is a direct continuation of the first one.

But given that we're still on rumor terrotory, I would keep expectations low.

Crimson Desert takes around 250 hours to complete, and if that's not meaty enough for you, good news: DLC is coming

Crimson Desert DLC is on its way, because you can never have enough Crimson Desert apparently. Pearl Abyss teased the news in its June-September 2026 preview, where it also detailed a bunch of tantalising improvements, but it hasn't given much away so far.
>> Maybe because to make room for this DLC or because they realized it’s not good, they’re fixing the story(link).

I bought it right away on launch, since I was looking forward to it for very long time, so it was "support the developer" kind of thing, though I knew I won't be playing it for at least 6 months to a year. I've pretty much only tested it for couple hours, liked what I've seen (for the most part), but not only I don't have time for it for foreseeable future (the way I play open world games, doing lot of sightseeing, it takes forever), but this type of games are always better as GOTY editions after waiting for a year or so.

I know what you mean. Losing yourself in side quests if half the fun in most, if not all, open world games, no matter the genre.

And yes, fully complete games are always better, as the experience you get is more complete and rounded.
