What a pointless thing to waste your time and resources to develop.

Epic CEO Tim Sweeney mocks Valve’s Steam Deck price increase

https://videocardz.com/newz/epic-ceo-tim-sweeney-mocks-valves-steam-deck-price-increase

And the worst PR spokeperson strikes again. He can't stay quiet, can he?

By the way (maybe it has been posted on the thread about the price jump, but the new Decks at thos higher prices have sold out in 24 hours:
https://www.techpowerup.com/349469/valve-steam-deck-sells-out-in-24-hours-despite-price-hike

I, for one, am surprised.

Also, there is a rumor about the price of the Steam Machien and Frame, and it's not good:

Leaker Hints at Astronomical Steam Machine Pricing
https://www.techpowerup.com/349418/leaker-hints-at-astronomical-steam-machine-pricing
Recent moves indicate that Valve is planning an imminent launch for the Steam Machine, but more recently, Valve increased the pricing of its existing Steam Deck hardware across the board by as much as $300. Following the announcement of the Steam Deck price changes, notable industry insider, Brad Lynch, who has previously supplied accurate leaks regarding Valve products, compared the updated Steam Deck pricing to what he had heard about the starting price of the Steam Machine. According to the leaker, the planned Steam Machine pricing from two months ago was "still higher than today's Steam Deck prices."

Not good. Not good at all. The frame may get a pass because it's a unique product, but the Valve should delay or maybe even cancel the Steam Machine because it's not worth it at that price. But well, the Decks have sold out so it seems like people buy whatever.

MSI unveils world’s first QD-OLED Triple-Mode monitor: 4K 360Hz / 2K 520Hz / FHD 680Hz

Hisense Launches World’s First RGB Mini LED Monitor, Boasting 4K@180Hz And Peak Brightness Of 2000 Nits

https://wccftech.com/hisense-launches-worlds-first-rgb-mini-led-monitor-boasting-4k180hz-and-peak-brightness-of-2000-nits/

I see dual-mode monitors as a niche product, but triple-mode? It kind of feels like one of those pointless things brands fight over that most users haven't asked for nor have intention to use. Other than those buying the most expensive hardware to play competitive shooters at the lowest settings possible to get the highest framerate possible.

The Hisense monitor is cool, but too expensive. At that point it competes with the best OLED monitors, and while this new monitor may br brighter, OLEDs have other advantages that make them a better choice for gamers.

For professionals, the extra brightness and lack of burn-in worries may make it more enticing, but calibration will matter as much.

Google: "We'll shove AI into everything"

Also Google, in 2026:

'There are two 'P's in the word Google' says the company's upgraded AI Overview, as an old LLM issue rears its ugly head
https://www.pcgamer.com/software/ai/there-are-two-ps-in-the-word-google-says-the-companys-upgraded-ai-overview-as-an-old-llm-issue-rears-its-ugly-head/

The thing is, letters in a word isn't something that LLMs can do like humans do because they think in tokens. What you're asking is more akin to how many [554]s are there in [331][7856] in that the answer isn't immediately obvious from the question.

Of course, Google's AI Overview model being an outdated (Gemini 1.5-like?) extremely quantized to keep costs down and make it cheaper than standard Google Search doesn't help matters either.

I get it, thanks for the explanation, but still hate it and how they want to leave us with no other option than to use it.
