The thing is, letters in a word isn't something that LLMs can do like humans do because they think in tokens. What you're asking is more akin to how many [554]s are there in [331][7856] in that the answer isn't immediately obvious from the question.
Of course, Google's AI Overview model being an outdated (Gemini 1.5-like?) extremely quantized to keep costs down and make it cheaper than standard Google Search doesn't help matters either.
