BOTW was still a game available for Wii U though; games released very late in a console's life still count.

Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were indeed absolutely brilliant, as was Luigi's Mansion, the rest I feel are somewhat overhyped. Wii U also got the excellent Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Captain Toad Treasure Tracker, and Yoshi's Woolly World.

Twilight Princess as well.  I thought the GC output was very good.  Crushes the Wii-U for me, and the Wii.

Twilight Princess is awesome, though I played the Wii version. BOTW though is my pick for the greatest Zelda game ever.

I did love some GC games like Metroid Prime 1/2 and Luigi's Mansion, but as more of SNES/N64 kid I didn't really vibe with stuff like Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, Mario Kart Double Dash or DK Jungle Beat, their predecessors in the 90s and successors on Wii were more my style.

I feel like Nintendo that gen was kinda flailing around in a panic and throwing a lot of stuff at the wall to see what stuck; for me some of it did, and some didn't.
