As a CEO, Satoru Iwata was pretty terrible. I think a lot of the things I didn't like about Nintendo came from him, especially the way they withheld features and advancements from their customers. It was not rare to see them implement industry standard improvements one or two generations behind other companies. Now, they're much more competitive on that front. Yes, there were Nintendo fans who praised anything they released but there were always people asking for this or that advancement that would have unquestionably improved the user experience. It was a very arrogant way of dealing with customers and it turned me completely off the company. I feel a lot more favorable to Nintendo now than before and I think others feel the same.
