Switch 1 has a perfectly reasonable justification to exist ... what the hell are parents of younger kids supposed to buy? A $500 Switch 2 is overkill for a 8 year old, so is a PS5.

If console makers are not going to offer anything affordable for the entry level/kids market you're just driving that audience straight to smartphone/tablet gaming.

 

Isn't it cheaper to just give your kid your Switch/Switch Lite?  I think its safe to assume that most people getting a Switch 2 like myself already own a Switch. And given the fact that the Switch is more expensive now than ever it just makes more sense.
