I think some are fairly disappointed because this game has been retread like 4x.... for the younger generation who haven't experienced it, there would be no difference between this and a full on new game/reboot.

I haven't seen anyone crashing out about this though. 

The implication is that more star Fox is coming.

If I remember correctly, Nate said before this direct that a Star Fox game will be released in the summer of 2026 (June, 25) and a new one in 2027, so perhaps this game is meant to reintroduce the franchise, but to a new audience, not for the old one.
