I was speaking to the infrastructure and how well it all worked. Before Xbox Live, the best us console gamers had had was Dreamcast and bare-bones Sega.net. Compared to that, XBL was an epiphany.

That is fair.  The ecosystem was a massive step up.  

Did anyone mention HDD standard?
