It looked like either a well executed 30fps or how I imagined 40fps would look like on a 120hz display. It definitely has that "cinematic" 30fps vibe, but without the obvious choppiness I normally associate with 30fps. It's certainly a lot better than FF7 Rebirth's 30fps which I found unplayable on base PS5.
I really want to experience 40fps because I feel like it's the perfect middleground. It's low enough to feel somewhat "cinematic" without being as choppy as 30fps or as "soap-opera" as 60+ fps.
For some reason, highframes in some genre expose the technicial flaws easier than 30fps. Materials and physics will often look fine on 30fps, then you switch to 60fps and suddenly everything feels like it's made out of cardboard lol. Perceptions...
