Yup. And if you used a cheat device, you could even unluck Zelda and SMB! That's what I did. There was also the island, if you used the link cable and your GBA, as well as the e-reader machine in the post office. Oh, and making another town on another memory card so you could travel via the train and get double the items. So many quirky, interesting things to do.
