Yeah a lot of Nintendo stuff is hilariously dark when you stop and think about it too much.

Like Pikmin is about a guy who lands on an alien planet, enslaves the locals, and uses them as cannon fodder in slaughtering the rest of the native wildlife.

He doesn't enslave them, they willingly help him.

I feel a little bad for killing Pikmin predators, but it's what I do to help my Pikmin. Though I feel much less bad for killing the Smoky Prog, because it seems less like a wild animal and more like an actively malicious individual that wants to kill everyone in it's path.
